Gallery update problems

I'm having a problem with my Gallery and it's slowly driving me crazy. When I download a picture from online (Facebook, Chrome, etc) it doesn't show up in my Gallery right away. Eventually it does, usually when I restart my phone. It's very irritating especially when I want to send that picture right away to someone on my Facebook Messenger or Whatsapp.

I can see the photo in my download folder but there are limited options available such as setting it as my background, whatsapp profile picture, etc. None of those options allow me to share it to someone on Messenger or Whatsapp.

I can't be the only one. Please tell me someone knows how to fix or work around this.

Welcome to the G3 forum.

Try Settings, Storage, Cached Data, clear the cache, and Power Off and Restart the phone. You never know, that might do it.
Also, a troublesome SD card perhaps, if you are using one?

I have tried the cache clearing and restarting. They show up on restart but if I download a new photo, Gallery will not show it again. The downloaded photos do show up in other apps, just not in Gallery.
