Gaming and Movie Battery Performance?

Hey guys!

So, I'm planning to grab an Epic in a few days because I'm hearing a lot of good things about it.

I plan to use the phone for a lot of gaming/movies during and in-between flights and was wondering how you power-users are doing as far as battery life goes when you're gaming or watching a movie.


I'm ALMOST considering just getting an iPad or maybe waiting on the Galaxy Tab, but thats another argument altogether...

Any comments/suggestions will be very much appreciated. =]

I've noticed that if you disable the data connection you can get pretty good battery life when watching movies. I watch a lot of movies on my epic and I only use up about 15-20% for a 90 minute movie and the volume all the way up.

Sweet... and I'm sure "Airplane Mode" would help with disabling such things?

I use an app called Quick Settings and switch off 3G, airplane mode works too but you won't he able to get phone calls or texts.

Just bumping this thread is hopes to get a few more replies on how people are doing on battery while running movies/games. =]

Go for it! If you use airplane mode while watching movies you'll love the phone. Leaving wifi and 4g on while neither is available, nor will be available sucks a lot of juice because the devices are constantly searching for a signal.

Also have tested playing movies with airplane mode on and I think you'll be happy. I tested a 2 and half hour movie and still had a decent amount of battery left I'll probably do some testing to see how many I can play before the battery is completely dead so I'll update you when I do that test.
