Hi there wasnt sure where to put this, so here it is.

I wouldn't mind connecting a Bluetooth controller to my phone for ease of use when playing some games.

Have seen various controllers like the kishi and gamesir both which have seemingly mixed reviews when you delve deeper.

The gamesir, which did look like a favourite, has an app that it comes with but only works with snapdragon phones. I understand it plays most games with controller support but others may need a little bit of setup, of which only snapdragon phones are compatible.

I have the Galaxy A53 5G.

I play some mobas, minecraft amongst others. AFAIK minecraft supports controllers but not sure some of the mobas do. However, ages ago now, I'm sure you could use six axis PlayStation app And a controller for touch mapping?

What are the thoughts on controllers?

I have more controllers for my mobile phone than I do for all of the consoles in my house. :(

Phone is a S23 Ultra.

Here is what I use and what I think of them:

MOGA XP5-X: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...s%2Fmobile-gaming%2Fmoga-xp5-x&token=MdIm0g6C

This one is my favorite for many reasons. The Phone Clip is STRONG and does not move once you set it and tighten it. The price can be a little much for some, but if you want to seriously game, you want to spend a little more and get something that works well.

GameSir X2 Bluetooth Mobile Gaming Controller: https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Co...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU7140179

I bought this when I had my Z Fold 3 and it fit perfectly. I really liked this one as it made gaming pretty easy on my Fold, but now that I am back to a candy bar phone, this one is not getting used as much as I fall back to my MOGA controller. It my rugged case, my S23 U barely fits, but it works great. Costs, again, may get you on this one.

Amazon Luna Controller Phone Clip (Read below): https://www.amazon.com/Made-Amazon-...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU7140179

Now, if you already have an XBox One Controller (newer Bluetooth models), then you can get something like this and convert it into a Mobile controller with ease and it's the least expensive option since it is only $14.99 (USD). You can get a Luna Controller with Clip, but if you are going to spend this much money, go for the MOGA controller (https://www.amazon.com/Luna-Control...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU7140179).

Pictured below is my XBox One Elite Series 2 controller with the Luna Clip and my S23 U next to my MOGA controller for comparison:

Hope this helps some, feel free to ask any questions about these and I'll try and answer them.

I play mostly retro games and I use an emulator on my phone with 100s of Roms. However, I really like your set up. So are these games from an App? Where do you get the games? How do you set it up, etc?

Appreciated

I am still trying to find a good EMU to run on my phone, I have a ton ROM's, just looking for a good EMU to run them. I am currently messing with RetroArch Plus, but have not had as much time as I like.

Most of the games I play are typically ones I can play via xCloud (via GamePass Ultimate). Once you have GamePass, you have access to xCloud and can stream games via a good internet connection. I mainly play when I am on WiFi or 5G. Don't try and play while moving in a car, jumping cell towers can kill your gameplay.

I'll keep you posted if you like when I get a chance to mess with EMU on my phone.

So gamepass for Xbox? What app is that?

As far as emulator, I use Lemuroid. RetroArch is too complex for simple play. Lemuroid checks all the boxes for me. Including game save

Just download the GamePass app from the Play Store and if you have a GamePass subscription, you can play games from that app.

GamePass is for:

XBox Consoles
PC's
Mobile Devices (xCloud)
