Gapless playback not working

As the title says, gapless playback isn't working on Galaxy S7 using Google Play Music, Samsung Music, BlackPlayer, etc. On my tests, only Poweramp and AIMP (with the obvious exception of Spotify which is a streaming app) did gapless correctly. I also read that Galaxy S6 users who was once on Lollipop reported that gapless playback was working fine until such time they upgraded to Marshamallow. This begs the question: Did Samsung broke this feature on Android 6.0 and was never addressed?

UPDATE:

It seems that this issue is now fixed on Android 7.0 Nougat!
