While it mostly ran, official 5.1.1 was slow, and seemed prone to random crashes of sorts.
Lollipop actually runs fine on my 2013 Moto G 4G - kudos to Motorola for that.
So I've loaded TWRP, and Cyanogenmod 11 (4.4.4 KitKat). So far so good.
Still working on loading most of the apps and data I had on the tablet previously, but have yet to see
any crashes, and as others have noted, a fresh OS load always seems faster.
The only thing that kept me from doing this sooner, was the time involved in reloading apps and data.
