GB - Choice Between Adding Contact to Google or Backup Assistant

After the GB update, I noticed that when you click the plus button to add a contact, it gives you the option to add him or her in your google account or the backup assistant. That's a pretty cool option (I don't think they had that before). Well, whenever I check remember this choice, it will never remember it... Sad day... How do you like that feature, and does the check stay checked?

I use Google to back up contacts, so I don't bother with backup assistant.

Using Google for backup makes it a no-brainer decision when I want to wipe my phone. It also allows me to seamlessly move from work to home to mobile with my contact info. No matter where I add a contact, I have it where I need it, when I need it.

Are you updated to gingerbread? Does it remember your choice if you choose to add contacts only with google?

OMG! Do NOT get involved with the Vz backup. It has a history of NOT syncing well with Google and has caused untold problems with keeping contacts current and accurate.

Personally, I periodically go to the My Vz website and DELETE all the contact info there. It keeps my Gmail contacts clean and current.

Yeah I noticed that Vz backup never really syncs well. When I went to verizon to get a refurbished dx, they gave me a cheap phone and tried to get my contacts back with the backup. It only got like 6 contacts back out of like a hundred.

Do you know what I mean when you go to add a contact in gingerbread and it asks you to save over google or backup and there's a box to check to have it remembered for the next time you add a contact? Does it stay remembered for you?
