Gear Fit 2 Pro wifi authentication error.

I'm trying to connect my new Gear Fit 2 Pro to my home wifi network, which is password protected. I have gone through the proper steps to do so, and I've entered my password correctly, but I keep getting an error message that reads "Authentication error occurred". This is quite frustrating as I cant use my watch with Spotify without wifi. I have also tried to connect using the WPS button method and achieved the same result. Any idea what might be the issue?
