Gear fit 2 unable to control music

Hi,
I have a gear fit 2 and a Samsung phone. I can use the music app on the gear fit to play music which I have sent over from the phone, but I cannot use it to control what is being played from my phone. My husband can do this with his gear fit 1 so seems strange they would have dropped the feature. Samsung FAQ indicates I should be able to select phone as source from the settings of the music player on the fit, however this setting is not there on mine. I have updated all software. Could this be regional issue? Seems lots of apps like Spotify are not available to me in Australia that are available elsewhere.

I'm able to do it on mine. Directly in the middle above the track title on the main playback screen, it shows the selected playback source. Touching that icon toggles between the band and phone for me and gives me a dialog indicating that I've changed sources.
