Gear S Alert!

Hi all, after having a rush on my hand I have separated the gear S from its strap and realize that there is some kind of acid all around it consuming the plastic.

I took some photos but is that happened to someone else as well ?

If you do have Samsung Gear S smart watch remove the strap and check it now!

Yarivle, a few questions. Have you had the watch for a while? Do you run or exercise with the watch? Just wondering if it could be a combination of sweat, lotion, or sunscreen somehow? If it's something from inside the watch such as the battery maybe Samsung would replace it.

I believe it may have been liked that already when I bought it as there was no reason to take the strap off.

That's strange. Hopefully it's just a fluke thing and samsung will replace it. Maybe this will have others checking theirs. I have been looking at them the last few weeks but still on the fence about buying one. I bought the original gear when it came out and felt like a test dummy for samsung. Not sure I want to do that again. Anyway hopefully this will be worked out for you with a replacement.

I can't really tell what it is from the mobile app, but the sticker on mine is a square QR code, so that's why I wondered.

What's the stuff around the SIM card slot/cover? And the back of mine looks different --different writing beside the SIM cover.

I just checked mine and don't see anything like that on it. I have had it for about a month. I DO run with it so I know mine would get sweat and also lotion on it. But mine is nice and clean.

I've had mine since Christmas. No problems. Just took band off to check. No acids, gunk or anything, nice and clean. Good luck.

Mine looks good, my writing/pictures are different then the back of that one as well.
