Gear S Weather won't display

Been trying to get the weather on my new Gear S. When I tap the icon I get "On your mobile device, turn on Show Weather Updates." There's a button that offers the option to "Show on Device" and when I tap that nothing shows on my Note 3 except both the "arrows" to the right and left of the home button flash for a millisecond. I have what I believe to be the default weather app widget on one of my Note's home screens (although it's not the weather app I use daily on my Note) and I don't find this option on it. What am I doing wrong or not doing please?

Thanks,
Deb

Is the default weather app pre-installed on your watch not working? That's the only weather app/widget works on the watch and it doesn't require phone. But you have to configure the settings via phone's Gear Manager (update frequency is the only thing you can configure).

Weather app updates on my phone and is check-marked in the Gear Mgr and set for one hour.

I don't have that weather app on my phone at all. The watch downloads its own weather information from the internet at pre-configured schedule. It only needs current location.

I've had the same issue since I purchased the Gear S. All settings are correct (exhaustively so), but it is still not sending any weather info to the watch. It has never said anything other than "No Weather Info" and suggested I turn on updates, which I have done. I have the stock weather widget running on my Note 3. Nothing happens. Not once has it sent weather info to the watch.

The only possibilities I can think of now are (1) I'm running the leaked Lollipop ROM (which in every other aspect has worked perfectly) and (2) when I try to uncheck the box for "show weather updates", I get a unified deamon (euro) error message. I have cleared the data for the unified daemon, restarted, and nothing.

Is it possible this is just a problem with the Lollipop ROM? I'm strongly considering reverting to Kitkat to make this work, as I really do want weather working on the watch and BIZARRELY there seems to be NO third party weather app in the Samsung Gear Store (WTH?).

Suggestions?

Location turned on? That's what triggered mine to work after I switched from my note 3 to my note edge and I noticed no weather as well.

This is a post of a couple months ago. I found the solution! If you didn't, let me know and I'll post it here. It's easier than one thinks.

You should always post a solution in any thread when you find one that works for you. There's nothing more annoying than doing a forum search for a problem and only finding where someone posted that they figured out the problem but didn't tell how.

Exactly. Not only is it helpful but is actually a little courteous too.....

Hi there you must have the stock phone weather app which is accu weather running ...i have it setup on another screen other than my home screen on s6 edge and it works fine...but if you dont have accu weather app then just install from store and you will have no problems...as it wont work with 3rd party apps.. cheers

I have tried every thing including sending it back to Samsung to fix they really did nothing the weather works through its own GPS when not connected to phone at all as a stand alone but not when it is synced to my Samsung S5 phone. if you go to the gear manager on phone and manage apps the weather will not open for any settings at all.
