I like the looks of the classic model over the regular model hands down. I was also really excited about being about to swap bands with any band I want. But I just recently discovered that you can't swap bands with the classic 3g model for some reason. Now I can't decide whether I should get the regular 3g model and sacrifice looks for the ability to swap bands (assuming the band adapter ever comes to the states), or go with the better looking classic and stick with the stock band forever.

First thing I did was change the band on my Gear S2 Classic. Simple spring pin attachments like many other watches. Found a great looking black - brown glossy crocodile leather strap with gold buckle at local flea market! 20 mm size.

I was under the impression that the 3g classic was different than the Bluetooth classic model. Almost all of the metal bands I've found on amazon for the Bluetooth classic specifically say not for 3g classic.

I really hope I'm wrong. I was really bummed when I found out the original gear s2 had a proprietary band that couldn't be swapped. Then excited when I found out about the classic's ability to swap bands. Only to be let down again to read that all of the bands on amazon say not for classic 3g.

You CAN use any 20 mm regular watch band with the Gear S2 Classic.

You are correct concerning the 3g classic. The metal loop band will not fit. The pin holes are at a different distance from the edge than the Bluetooth only model. The loop bands are wider than 20 mm and the part that reduces to 20mm is not long enough to reach the pin holes. The regular classic model does not have this problem.

Is there another size band that would better? Possibly just go up a size? And is this only with metal bands? Or do 20mm leather bands not work either?

I Have the Gear S2 Classic that has stand alone capability to utilize T-MOBILE cell service. Is that not the Gear S2 Classic 3g?

Are you saying there are actually three different iterations of the Gear S2 Classic? Gear S2 Classic, Gear S2 Classic 3G, and Gear S2 Tmobile?

I have already swapped out the stock band for another regular watch band. Granted, it is a Crocodile leather band not a metal one. But it wouldn't s33m logical to have so many variations in attachment points for the same model device.

It is only the metal loop band that has a problem. Go to amazon and look at the photos that show the part that connects to the watch. I tried one and had to return it. Even my jeweler could not get it to work.
