Gear S2 Classic EOL

So, I have the AT&T Gear S2 Sport, but had an opportunity to get the Gear S2 Classic through AT&T for $49 at work because we were getting a couple of Samsung phones. I lined up the order through our AT&T rep, but he called me this morning and said, that the Gear S2 Classic was not available anymore, the device was end of life. Also, I don't think it is just AT&T, the Classic isn't available through our Verizon business account either. Gear S3 announcement is next week, so I guess that means a quick release.

The Classic is still available on Amazon, might not prove anything though. I got the impression from other sources that the S3 would be announced in September but would not be available until later.

They are supposed to announce it on August 31st at the IFA in Berlin. On the Samsung Twitter page it states " Talk about 3" and has Gear on the bottom.

Hmmm... I hat one on order through AT&T. They didn't have any in the store so they ordered it. My original ship date was supposed to be between 8/25 and 8/29. Last night (8/29), I got an email saying my ship date has changed. Now it is supposed to be between 9/24 and 9/28. I don't like the looks of this.

Yeah, I just hope this isn't one of those things where they draw you out for months and end up saying "sorry, we don't make that any more."

I just purchased the S2 Classic at Best Buy a few hours ago. Not the 3G version, but they were available.

Verizon has the S2 Classic on their website again, but the ship date is 12/12. Maybe they will bring it back being that the S3 Classic will not have a mobile data version.
