It is randomly disconnecting off of Bluetooth throughout the day and won't reconnect unless I go into the gear app on my phone and reconnect. It is frustrating because I am missing notifications and I have to constantly check my watch to see if it is connected. Anybody experiencing the same issue?

Yep. Same issue. Just started happening one day with no apparent changes in apps, system software, or otherwise. I have done factory reset several times and still have issue.

One additional thing -- while mine random and frequently disconnects, it also randomly reconnects. Phone is always within 6-10 feet or less when these things happen.

It's like Bluetooth goes in and out or service.

This is a real shame because for me it is a deal breaker if I still have to look at my phone for notifications since I'm never really sure if my watch is connected. Such a shame because otherwise it would be such a great watch.

^ it is a great watch. Have you checked the settings in the gear app to make sure all the apps are updated?

It did this on the S2 also. I have the carrier version so Bluetooth disconnecting isn't a issue anymore but I can say it's not disconnecting from Bluetooth for me unless I get a certain distance away from phone then it's on the tower. The carrier version is worth every penny of the $5 a month.

I am using the carrier version but I prefer to avoid having to pay for standalone since my phone is always on me.

Take it back if you can. This is intolerable. Have the Verizon LTE without incident thus far. Cross my fingers.

I thought the same thing with the S2 and the gear. The S3 is the first time I got the carrier version to try it out and see if I like having the ability to not have to have the phone close by. So far I am glad I did it. It's nice I can run an errand and leave the phone behind, at home I can be doing things around the house, outside and leave the phone in one place and I'll get messages or calls irregardless if I'm connected to the phone or not. We all know that Samsung's Bluetooth range isn't that great.

Anyway it's nice not having to have the phone close by all the time, it gives a little freedom and if your doing stuff in a dangerous area for phones like on concrete you can leave the phone in a safe place with less chances of breaking it.

Yes! Those of us of a certain age can remember life before cell phones. Before we were constantly accessible 24/7. Leaving my phone behind provides a feeling of freedom that's hard to describe. Oh well, eventually there won't be anybody left who remembers those days...

Exactly!

I hear you but $5 per month is really worth it. Either way I would try and replace it.

What happens if you accidentally leave your watch at home and still have your phone with you? Will your calls go to your watch?
