I've looked trough the app notifications in settings, but I don't see Gear as an option to turn off. Does anyone know how to stop the persistent Gear notifications on my phone....getting irritating.

I get zero notification on my phone are you referring to S health? Check the apps and phone notifications settings

This notification.

Sorry to change the subject, but are you able to use s-voice to respond to text messages? Since I've went from my S7E to the S8 I've not been able to respond to text messages on my Gear s3.

That's just letting you know it's connected. It's not a notification.
It's in the notification panel. I would consider it a notification. That's what the OP is referring to though, at least that's my guess. It's a persistent device connected notification. As far as I know, you can't get rid of it.

it's weird because I always have it too, but today it's not there, and my Gear S3 is definitely connected

Well ok... I can see your perspective, but I wouldn't consider a notification as such. It's just letting you know your Bluetooth device is connected. I don't see a problem with that remaining. In fact I would probably be concerned if they're WASN'T something letting me know it's connected.

For the record a that "notification" only shows when I will pull the shade down.

Does this mean you have to use Samsung Connect for the Gear S watches? I've got two S2s that I seldom use and haven't activated either with the S8 yet.

Awesome! That worked. I never really used it anymore, especially since it doesn't tell you how much battery your watch has left without clicking on it

It's just a place where you can manage all your connections etc. You pair them via Samsung gear as usual and you don't need to bother or do anything with Samsung connect if you don't want to.

In S VOICE when you see three dots on the right touch those and change the language to English UK and it will work, some sorta bug myself and others had the same issue it hangs up on us English for some reason

I see your point too about the whole "notification" thing. I personally find it annoying. An actual regular notification pops up if it disconnects(that also doesn't show unless you pull the shade down but it is a real notification, so to speak). I'd rather just assume it's connected and know when it isn't. Disabling it, is exactly what I needed.

Cool, glad you found what you needed!
