Gear S3 on Verizon

What is number share?
Numbershare is Verizon's new one number service. They introduced it with the Gear S3. I've always felt that's why it was delayed. It's similar to Numbersync by AT&T and digits by t-mobile.
This one has its own number... I will contact them today and find out.
You can change it online. That's what I did.
Maybe it is $20 if you have a separate number but if you share your mobile with the watch it is $5 per month. If they don't give me the $5 plan I will return it and buy a wifi model. I will not pay $20 per month when I almost always have my phone with me.
Yeah apparently that's how it works. They should give the 5 dollar plan

I figured they would.... I wasn't upset in my last post, just telling how it would go. I will try online now... See if I can update.

Oh ok. I was upset at first lol. Upping the price just for the Gear S3 seemed wrong to me.

I was told that is not possible. Did you turn on call forwarding? I tried that as well, but it did not work

Online chat, fixed it. still shows the $20 plan, but I will give it 24 hours to change online. I emailed the chat to myself so I had proof if needed.

The watches have their own number which if you don't choose to use numbershare it will cost $20/mo with no contract and then you would have to use call forwarding if you want to leave your phone at home. Using numbershare will cost you $5/mo with a 2 year contract.
Settings >Gear info>About device >Gear phone no. shows you the actual number.

Yes, with numbershare textees see the phones' number and not the watches number.

I have a business account where numbershare is not available. On my old Gear S it had an option on the watch to enable the autoforward but I do not see it on this one. I need this option.

The Gear S2 also but you can of course do it from the Gear manager on your phone or just dial *72 (area code) phone # of watch. That is the same code your option used also.

so basically, instead of using Bluetooth, it is using some sort of Wifi or LTE network to ring your watch from the phone? If the phone is off, it will not ring your watch. This is a bit confusing.

I have the watch and numbershare and it doesn't show the phone number when texting. It shows the watch number. Can you confirm that when you text from your watch it shows your phone number?

That's not accurate. I turned my phone off and called my cell phone number and my watch still rang. It actually shares the number.

So anyone at home that wants to change to the $5 plan you can do this:

1. Log on to your verizon account (Full Website)
2. Hover your mouse over the "My Devices Tab" then click on "Manage connected devices"
3. Click OK on the notification box if it comes up.
4. Then drag and drop the watch to the line you want to share.

I had to log off then log back on to get it to show on the line. But it worked.

Apparently there is no option for a number share/$5 a month charge with a business account. I just ordered my Note8 today and they offered $100 off, I figured lets try it again... the corporate store could not get it to work.
I spoke with consumer sales and business sales at Verizon, They could not get it added to our business account either.
Any business users get the watch at $5?
