Gear VR Overheating/Usage

Hey everybody.

Has anybody found any reviews/mentions about using the S8 in Gear VR?

With the S7 they made a point about the heatsink to prevent overheating, I havent heard anything along those lines with the S8. I use my S6 Edge with VR alot so would like to see if anyone has seen any VR mentions.

I am very hesitant about the VR. Last I used one was with my Note 7 and I believe I had tried with the 7Edge both which got way wayyy too hot for my tastes.

I tried with the s7 edge and agree it got hot with dead head but i didnt have any overheating warning pop up nor notice any slowdown.

Im juat surprised they didnt mention anything

Given that it has more efficient internals, especially the 10nm SoC, heating should not be as much of an issue.

We have to remember that we have mobile hardware powering a VR experience. We should probably expect that these phones are going to throttle significantly after some time.

Coming from an S6 Edge as well, which overheats fairly quickly every time I try VR, so hoping the experience with VR has improved a bit with the S8 and newer Gear VR!

Oh not for one second do I expect them to get it perfect I'm beyond amazed with what my S6 can do in VR. I would just like it to go longer I dont expect better resolution or more console quality games I just wanna watch a full movie.
