I noticed that the new Gear VR is called Note 8 edition. I chatted with Samsung and was disappointed to learn the Note 8 is too big to fit in the Gear VR headset that I got with my Note 7. Total bummer.

I will wait and see. My s8 active almost fit it was just to thick. I still going to try the note 8 in it first before I buy a new one. Why not. Lol

Agreed, why not try it... however, I don't want the VR headset to be a limiting factor in the phone development choices.

Make a great phone, even if I have to buy a new headset.

I have 2 VRs sitting at home that cant fit these big phones. Both were free gifts for new phones.

I wished they had the VR included with the gifts Lol, i see alot of videos on youtube and I wanna trade it out Lol. But don't want to pay $100 for something that going collect dust after a couple use.

That's exactly what mine did when I got it with the S7 promotion. It was cool for 4-5 days then it went back in the box in the closet. I ended up giving it to a coworker a few months ago.
