Picked up the Pixel 9 Pro XL today from Best Buy. I was under the impression that it came with a one year subscription of Gemini Advanced that I believe gives access to the Gemini Live feature. But I can't seem to enable it. When I go into the Google 1 app (I have a basic subscription) there is an option to upgrade to Gemini Advanced with only a 60 day free trial followed by a $20 per month subscription fee. Am I incorrect about the 1 year free subscription? If not, can you point me in the right direction to access the Gemini Live feature? Thanks!

Make sure Gemini is your Assistant first and foremost and not Google Assistant (could have reverted if you restored from a backup of an old phone).

Language must be set to English.

Lastly it's not rolled out to everyone yet.

It automatically popped up for me when I opened the Google One app on my Pixel 9 Pro XL.

I had the 2TB annual plan just renewed a few days ago before I received the phone. It considered that and prorated into 6 months plus one year trial. Now I have the 2TB Plan with Gemini advanced until January 2026.

Thanks for posted this. My Pixel 9 Pro XL did the same.

Thanks for the responses. Looked at my Google 1 app but I couldn't find the promotion.... It never popped up for me. Pilot error is always a possibility. Looked online for instructions and followed the directions, but it simply led me to a normal subscription where you get a 60-day free trial. I thought that the promotion would be handled at checkout or something but like a bonehead, I went ahead and agreed to the terms. So now I have 60 days free and then they start charging $20 per month. I went online with Google customer support and they told me to cancel the deal at the 60 day point and then hopefully the banner will pop up on my Google 1 app. If not, I'll reach back out and try to get the free year subscription through customer service. No big deal but just wanted to give it a try.

So after all that, I just opened up my Google 1 app again and look what was waiting for me this time..... LOL. Someone responded earlier that not everyone had yet received the promotion and that seems to be the case. So I guess I have Gemini Advanced for free for a year and two months. Although the Pixel 10 may offer a free year as well and the cycle will repeat...... Screenshot_20240825-153639.jpgScreenshot_20240825-153701.jpg
