Using S20 FE (5g) today but I guess its a more general samsung question.
Quick Questions:
-Inside the hidden folder = I want to add a new account and perform a backup-
1.I cant add another samsung account. Thats for sure.
2.Add new accounts = LDAP, whats that? a green icon, similar to google hangouts
3. I cant add onedrive or anything, even if it exist on the root device
Background and explanation
Timeline with 3 devices and 1 account:
2018
I have one and only samsung-account since year 2018.
All setup with my first galaxy device:
#1 DEVICE = NOTE9
2021
I managed to somehow switch, and continue with my new device (S21 Ultra)
Probably: Device >backup to CLOUD >> restore to device
#2 DEVICE = S21 ULTRA
Absolute everything worked 100%.
Apps, themes, notes, gallery, even the hidden folder and its content.
2022
I sold my S21 and instead got a new S20FE.
This was done under pressure and short of time.
1th backup was done using PC-smartswith. It got everything except hidden folder.
2th attempt, I used wireless smart-switch. Device<Device. hidden folder failed again!
:-!
#3 DEVICE = S20 FE
Now fast forward:
when I now use the S20 FE device:
Open //hidden folder
SETTINGS - RESTORE
= the app connects with the default samsung accounts, doing a client-hello.
Then recieves a server-hello and displays what it founds on the cloud in return:
It says
But the dates are off and not consistent
It claims that the backup was done 2021.
But still, the different contents all have their own dates.
Videos: 2020/yy/yy
Photos: 2021/xx/yy
Its a mess!
The backup is still named from the oldest device.
But it gets more weird.
Videos are suddenly 2 years off.
All year 2021 I used a new device, right?
The note9 has been almost offline and not used at all during this period.
And even the google-find-all activity supports this and tell that the hidden folder
was used by the S21, as late as januar this year....So I am afraid I cant trust this cloud service and the data.
Thats why I want to do a new backup, and store it on a new account.
Separeted from the existing one.
And maybe then later, try to restore and test out whats really on the cloud.
And what files that it can fetch.
