General question about model numbers

I'm kind of a newbie. The label inside my phone says model LG-K330 (I'm just using this as an example). I know it is also a K7. So what is the K7? Is there some kind of general phone numbering system that would help me understand this?

K7 is the range name. There are several versions of K7's, like the K7 from 2016, and the one from 2017. So they will have different model numbers. Then there are the varying numbers on the LG K-range. Each number after K will signify where they stand on the range heirarchy. The K7 will be higher(better) than the K3 of the same year, and will be inferior to the K8 of the same year.
