General rooting question

Ok, i have a mytouch 3g slide and i want to root it. i have the zip file that i need to do so. but in the video it says something about a android tools/sdk directory. i think that the video is very vauge and i think i may need a little more help. if anyone can point me in the right direction would be great.

Check out the forums at androidforums.com. They've got a pretty large and helpful community.

Also, make sure you do plenty of research before you root. I made sure to do plenty of reading before rooting my Droid, that way I had zero questions before I pulled the trigger.

Can't connect to google after installing a ROM

Hi I just installed a ROM through ROM manager not knowing it would wipe my phone. Now doing the setup I can't connect to my google account...Any help?
