Hi everyone,

I got my Rezound a couple months ago, it worked great till i got that "Infinite Looping" problem, ended up removing the battery to stop it, resetting it, and doing the "fix" and it eventually worked fine.

But since then, it developed a pretty loud creaking sound on the left side of the phone (like the back casing) and since then, ive been having some pretty bad signal problems/wifi/data. The problems arn't just in general when the phones just laying there, but more when i hold it. If i have the phone in the palm of my hand or even on the sides sometimes, the WiFi signal will drop from full, to 0-1 lines. Signal will drop from 4-5 to 1-2. I let go and put it on a table or flat surface, or hold it with 2 fingers and it all comes back. I read that the Rezound gets a "boost" of signal through the back cover? (so essentially taking it off will result in no service/signal)...

Not sure if this is a common problem or not, but im looking to possibly returning it for warranty just to get a new one...but dont see a point if it happens to everyone or not...

tl;dr - when i hold the phone with my palm, wifi/signal goes to 0, hold with 2 fingers or on table, full bars. normal?

Thanks everyone!

Voice should still work but you definitely will lose all 4g LTE connectivity if the rear door is off b/c the antennae for the radios in the Rezound are built into the rear door cover. You may have damaged one and they aren't contact each other. They are the little gold pieces on the phone and cover. I only say that b/c you say the creak appeared well after your purchase date.

Another possibility is, for some reason, several who installed the OTA have had issues w/ their voice, data & wifi, after they installed the update. Signal strengths dropped off out of the blue. Not sure what extent that is affecting users at large but some have reported it.

Anyway, you slice it, save yourself a prolonged headache and just return it for a refurb at your point of purchase. Verizon has not acknowledged any issue so if it is anl existing issue for people. An immediate fix is unavailable at present.
