Has anyone found a source for a generic battery that fits our Nexus? I see lots of batteries for the Nexus Prime but none for our phone!

I don't know if this will be possible in the short-term considering the fact that the NFC functionality of the Galaxy Nexus is built into the battery.

Even if a third-party manufacturer ends up making a battery, I have a feeling that it would not provide the NFC functionality...at least not any time soon.

I know that Seidio has a super extended battery listed as coming soon. It will not support nfc either. But hey, it will be 3800 mAh

Why would you want a generic battery? The extended battery at vzw is! or at least was! 50% off ($25).

I know that from the CDMA version. The battery in the GN is exactly the same battery that goes into a GS2 for t-mobile.

Be careful buying a generic battery. Some of the hardware needed for nfc (used for Google wallet, etc) is actually inside the battery.

Exactly. That's were Samsung stuck us with buying expensive replacements.

This battery is the correct size but it looks like the + and - terminals are on the left side not the right side that works on our phone.
