Get Nexus one, or wait to get Nexus S for AT&T?

I really want a Nexus phone, but I have AT&T. Right now I have a Blackberry 9700, and don't know how much longer I can take it. I NEED an Android in my life :D

I'm not sure if I should purchase a Nexus One on Craigslist and take my chances that it could be faulty (I'm not a developer, nor do I know any who would be able to buy it for me online), or if I should try to stick it out for a few months to see if AT&T will come out with their version of the Nexus S.

Do you think AT&T will even come out with their own version? If so, when? Last year when the original N1 came out, it was on T Mobile in early January, and then mid March for AT&T. If that is the case for NS, maybe I should try and stick it out for 2-3 months, however none of this is confirmed, and I'm not sure I want to take that risk.

What are your thoughts?

Here is the deal, I have zero idea if El Goog and Samsung will release a NAM version of the Nexus S.

at&t Mobility does not really play a role here per say, what matter is if your desired devices (in your case the Nexus S) supports North American 3G (NAM) which is 850Mhz and 1900Mhz (the frequencies that at&t Mobility utilizes for 3G).

If history is a predictor of the future, than El Goog and Sammy will release a NAM Nexus S about 3 months after the original AWS Nexus S.

With regards to purchasing an NAM N1, I cannot help you there at all, I have one and love it, but I did buy it new from El Goog and HTC and did not have to worry about 3rd party potential damage.

Sorry that I cannot be more of a help,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Not to worry, I truly appreciate your advice and words. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, but I have a feeling that (to me) the nexus s and one are similar enough, that I might just get the one, so I don't have to wait 3-6 months with my blackberry! Haha

They are getting the Olypus fairly soon, worth the wait!
