get the GS3 or wait?

I've been considering going back to tmo after verizon pulled their shenanigans and I want the GS3, but is there something better on the horizon?

I know GS3 is a great phone, but will it still be great 6 months from now?

My contract with vzw isn't up til april, but i'm willing to switch early. Just wondering if I should jump now and get the GS3 or ride it out a few more months for the latest and greatest?

There's always something better on the horizon, but it may take at least 9 months for anyone to one-up the GS3. If I was in your shoes I wouldn't wait a day longer...

Edit: Then again, I saw on your sig that you have the Razr Maxx... Did you get ICS already? If yes, I guess you can wait until your phone is 1 year old...

it's not the phone i have an issue with. i love my razr and if i could unlock it and use it on tmo i would, but i can't, to my knowledge.

it's the service i'm running into an issue with. i do have ICS and i love it! and yeah i know what you mean by there will always be something better...i guess that's true. it's outdated once you walk out of the store with it...

TouchWiz is crap, but purely in terms of hardware I think the S3 should hold up very well, and if you're the type to root and flash, I think its probably a great choice, bizarre capacitative buttons aside.

In terms of form factor my present favorite on T-Mobile is the One S, however for me, having the latest software is most important, so I'm planning to see what Google offers up as a new Nexus later this year before deciding on a replacement for my aging NS.

yeah i'm not a root person. it's just too messy for me and my lack of understanding stops me.

i read a report that there is going to be a big release of phones around the holidays (as per usual) so since my contract isn't up til january, i might just ride it out and see what the next wave is bringing.

the ONE does look pretty cool though. i like the fact that it has beats audio

S3 is very solid! If your having issues with service or something and if its your time to go....I do not think the S3 will disappoint you!

the girl at tmo made an interesting comment to me today. she said "any new phones that come out WILL have new features...but as far as power, they're already pretty fast and i don't see them pushing that much farther...so you're really just looking at features which can usually be added by a software upgrade anyway"

Dang.... Sounds like a candid salesperson. I agree, but with the caveat that a carrier phone will keep you waiting much much longer for Android updates.

after a LOT of research, posting on here and talking to real life owners, i went with the GS3. so far love it!
