Gets hot too!

This has to be the coolest running phone I ever had! I don't think the temp ever gets over 90 even with heavy downloading or games.

Its surprisingly cool. May be the first phone of late that can charge and play a demanding game without feeling hot. Barely warm at all. Normal use is nothing for it. Now my s7...

OP, if a factory reset doesn't fix the issue, I suggest bringing it back. Tell your carrier that it overheats - that might make your return process easier or at least quickened. Based on what has happened with Samsung, I am sure manufacturers and carriers are on their toes with things like this.

mine does when i charge it in the car. but sometime phones get warm when charging especialy if being used while charging. think we're just paranoid because of the n7 fiasco lol

Mine is always cool. First phone I have that has never gotten hot or even warm while charging. U may have a lemon.

I haven't had my v20 a full day yet but it got a little warm when setting it up and transferring my stuff from other phone which i kind of expected. My power button got warm earlier. But other than that so far stays cool.

If you use an app (3D type games mainly) that is GPU heavy the V20 gets "hot". Just like EVERY device including the iPhone 7 Plus. The Note 7 did too, but the heat piping intended for VR use kept it a little less hot.

Define it as "Very warm" or "hot", the point is the devices are 14nm, so still crank out significant heat.

One week and one day in the V20 may have gotten warm but never as hot as the V10, Note Edge, Galaxy S4 before it. Time will be the tell but I think the efficiency of the new hardware is good. I always drive with Waze running and often stream music over Bluetooth. With the V20 it stays reasonably cool, and also charges (not rapid charger even, just 2.0Amp) much more quickly, which to me means that it's taxing the battery much less.

If you want to check how hot, install an app like Sensors Multitool and look for Temperature in the Battery section. report your numbers here. At the moment I am discharging and the temp is 85.5 F

Maybe I'm just paranoid from the 2 note 7's I returned.

I had both note 7's also but truth is mines never got really hot, my v20 does get pretty hot when using it For an extensive period of time, but I am not afraid anything serious will happen.
