Getting an alert in my notification tray about Chrome sync, says incorrect passphrase

Today I started getting this alert in my notification tray for Chrome sync. I type in my Google password and it says "incorrect passphrase."

I only get this when I am on the chrome browser.

Did a quick search and apparently a lot of people have this issue on their Android phones.

Any way to remove this since it is annoying?

What's the exact notification that appears? Where do you type in your Google password? Can you show us a screenshot of the notification?

it appears in the tray up top whenever you are using the chrome browser.

i think if you go to:

settings
accounts
google
"click on your account"
"uncheck chrome"

it will stop it from syncing but it might be an issue for people who like to sync their desktops to their phones.

That's odd. Is your phone logged into only one Google account, or are there multiple accounts to choose from?

only one account.

apparently it is a common issue of late with a lot of android phones.

I had that notification appear yesterday. I have Chrome installed, but I hardly ever use it. So using it is not a cause.
