Getting annoyed

My phone doesnt have this problem. I rarely.....and I mean rarely lose 3g....and if i do it is for a few seconds. When I go into a 4g area (which is fairly often) my phone switches quickly and does not lose the signal....even in fringe areas. When I leave a 4g area my phone switches back to 3g very quickly......Havent had any data problems with this phone.

My issue with the GN is not 4g to 3g switching. I live in a 3g area and it is marginal at that. However, I do use wifi extensively at home and the radio on the GN is the worst I have ever seen in a phone or tablet or computer. I can sit with the phone sitting next to me and my Asus Transformer is humming along just fine using wifi and never losing signal. The GN is either showing no signal or extremely weak and when it shows a signal it will work for a minute or two and then quit moving data even though it showing a signal. The Transformer just keeps humming along.

As much as I love the GN and ICS I'm looking for something to replace it. Not a fan of Moto and not a fan of Sense so I don't really know what I'm going to do yet. I've given myself until the end of Feb. to search and figure what phone I'm going to get in it's place.

I never experienced this problem until I went on a trip to portland oregon last weekend. While there I had intermittent data outages. it was particularly bad, however on the drive between portland and seattle on I 205 and on the islands west of seattle, ( bainbridge island) where I had no connection the entire time while my wife had full bars of 3g. Upon returning home (bay area), my data issues went away. maybe it's just related to the area you live in? maybe verizon hasn't finished building out their infrastructure in these areas?

I got absolutely no problem with wifi either.....my phone hums along on wifi and the switching between wifi and 3g/4g is flawless. My signal strength on wifi is better than my og droid and so is my 3g signal strength..... I only bring this up to point out that some of us have phones that work exactly as they are supposed to. ....why I do not know.

My first Nexus had the reception issues.Swapped it out before my 14 days and I'm doing well with the second one.

Any idea if the baseband changed between then (1515.09 --> 1515.10) or if it was some other unknown issue that was resolved?

No idea where to get it. Some phones have it, and some don't. Multiple Verizon and Samsung reps have told me that we all "should have it" by now, but many of us don't. Verizon is sending me a new phone tomorrow in the hopes that it's in there. We'll see.

Yea I really haven't had as much issues as the OP I guess, although I have noticed that it sometimes takes up to 10 seconds for the data to pick up, but that's only going from 4g to 3g, I usually have no problems losing data coming from wifi. If it happens try turning all mobile data off ans then back on using a toggle widget or something, that might help.

Well considering that 4.0.3 has the new radios and that baseband is .09 which i currently have I doubt there is a .10 maybe with 4.0.4

Guys since changing over to CDMA only I have had better connectivity. The problem is I live in a 4g area and I cant even use it lol.
Its a shame cuz I like the phone otherwise. But my uses for my phone are internet and texting and email. Of which 2 give me problems, texting lag and internet. Really hope there is an update soon that fixes these issues.

Totally agree with those having issues. It takes forever to switch between 4g and 3g and I'm constantly staring at gray bars. I also live in a 4g area.
Wifi signal is very good -always like 3 bars away from my wireless router with Fios.
I went to Verizon on Tuesday and had the sim card changed with no change whatsoever. In fact, I don't know if it's me but it now appears that I have a box on my screen containing the menu keys, etc, where all the apps, info appears. Maybe it's just me or somehow it ghosted in on the screen. It is very noticeable.

THESE made a BIG difference in hand off times for me. Using hybrid 1 package.
