Hey. So I was really excited about the new 1.2 update because I wanted to get games and apps on my NC. However, I am in China. Thus far I've had no problem with books because of this. I can download from B&N store then simply side load. Unfortunately, they don't seem to offer this with apps, you must download them directly on your NC or not at all. Has anyone found any way around this? I want to download apps for my NC and side load them. I guess another option would be to get a VPN on my NC then download apps, but I don't know if that is possible. I am not interested in rooting my NC, I want to keep it stock. Any ideas? Thanks! :)

I'm in Australia and I've been running a US OpenVPN using dd-wrt over wifi. All B&N stuff loads and works normally.

Not sure if you'll run into problems with running OpenVPN in China, from what I've heard they have started to block the endpoints ;(

Good luck.

Nope my router does the connection.

I have a Asus RT-N16 it runs the VPN connection and the wifi so I just connect to that.

The router has been flashed with dd-wrt.

Make sure before you go down this path that you can reach those US VPN endpoints from China.
