Getting Boot Loop in CM5- Please Help!

Okay, I'll admit it- I jumped into the whole rooting process far too quickly, before I did all of my homework. Used the UnrEVOked 3 process so that I could access root apps such as wifi tethering and the LED flashlight, and I then overclocked to 1.15 Ghz using a Hydra Kernel.

But, without any knowledge as to what I was actually doing, I flashed the CyanogenMod 5 ROM to my DInc using the build that came with ROM Manager (I honestly don't even know if it was designed to work with this phone). After flashing (supposedly successfully) the ROM, I booted my phone, only to be greeted by an endless boot loop of CM's "X" animation. Is there simple way to flash the stock ROM without using the phone/bypass the root animation, or will I need to do a hard reset (and are there any issues with doing a hard reset if using a non-stock kernel)?

Thanks in advance.

Assuming you did a nandroid backup, you should be able to take the battery out, start up into recovery, and restore to the previous nandroid backup. If you didn't do a nandroid backup, then you have to download the stock rom or the 2.2 leak (if your radio was updated), place on the SD card, then boot into recovery and flash the rom. Once that's loaded up you can re-root, or if its rooted already, download ROM manager. If you want to try cyanogen, use cyanogen 6 test 8. It's worked very well for me.

A nandroid backup can be done through ROM Manager when flashing a new ROM and the program asks if a backup should be created- correct? Because I honestly don't know if I did one or not.

EDIT: Got it! Used the first method, apparently I did have a nandroid backup installed. Thanks a ton for the help, I was seriously freaking out there for a moment.

Glad you got everything working ok! Always remember to backup before you flash a new Rom!
