Getting Frustrated with S6 Edge Poor Performance

So I've had my S6 Edge from day one and was really enjoying my device. After only a few months of use I am becoming extremely frustrated with non stop issues. There are purple spots in my front facing camera shots when using the front camera.

My phone over the past few weeks has been getting stuck with the black screen and blinking light where a reset is required to regain functionality. Just this week alone it has been this way 3 times.

Lastly, the lag. With an optimized and slimmer TW I figured there would be minimal lag. I'm completely stock so I don't get it. It's not all the time but enough to notice, especially between switching apps or going from an app or web page back to the home page it seems like everything reloads.

Has anyone come across any of these issues and have tips on how to solve them. It has really taken away from the overall experience and if these issues continue, I might just be done with it.

Sorry to hear all of that, but try clearing your Apps cache (Settings-Storage) then enter do a Wipe cache Partition in Recovery Mode by power off your device then press and hold Volume down, Home and Power buttons until you see the Android Robot, once there just navigate using Volume buttons and press Power button to Enter.

Doing the above should help with any lag (if it's not caused by an active running app) but obviously you should keep monitoring the thing where the device is stuck and you need to reset, if by any chance this is caused by any corrupted OS file or maybe the same lag, maybe the Wipe cache Partition and Clear Apps cache may also help, if not, then you may also do the Factory reset (If you are willing to do it), if it's OS or any App related, it may be fixed by this.

When I bring up a contact and press "call" there is a 3-4 second delay (lag) before anything happens. I had all 3 HTC Evo's and the M7 and M8. I dearly wish I would have stayed with HTC. I'm on T-MO Jump program and can't switch until the S6 is paid down to 50%. Find myself double clicking constantly because it doesn't seem to recognize that I clicked. Infamous Samsung TouchWiz lag lives on.

The thing I don't understand about this is that in its first few weeks or months there appears to be almost no lag. But over time it builds up and gets worse and worse. Shouldn't a clear cache or worst case hard reset get it back to where you were in the first few weeks, or has yours had the lag from the beginning? For what it's worth, I'm almost a month in with the European 925F S6 Edge which I got specifically to avoid AT&Ts bloatware and it's impact on adding to the lag. So far yesterday was the first time I experienced lag...

I've cleared the apps cache and wied cache partition. Here's to hoping it gets better. For a 700 dollar plus device this shouldn't be happening after just 3 months.

I agree. I'm getting ready to go back to my icon and put the s6e on eBay.

For best performance try flashing a custom ROM, then delete unessesary bloatware. Oh the L Speed mod is great too.

If performance is declining it's probably something you changed or added. I've yet to have an issue. Bought 2 at launch. Neither has an issue. I've seen people add rogue apps and mess up performance before. Different manufacturers, but all Android. The beauty of iPhone for most people is it doesn't let you change anything, so you can't mess it up. Android can be. Customization and freedom is not for everyone.

Same. Got April 9th. No lag, no issues. works perfectly after all this time. I also bought 2, got one for my dad, he has zero issues as well.
Never cleared cache etc. but. I disabled everything I could that I don't use and I have added maybe 20-25 apps from the play store.
I just have my normal favorite apps and I just stick with those for the most part.

Not saying the device couldn't be defective somehow, I just don't have any issues like this that people keep saying they have and I have 2, mine is an S6 Edge and dads is a regular S6.

What you and many others are experiencing is the well-documented RAM issue on the S6 and S6 edge. Samsung is killing apps the moment they're closed for some reason...maybe to help memory usage (which makes zero sense). This results in waiting a long time for apps to reopen and seeing Chrome reload pages every single time. Half the time I can't listen to a podcast app while navigating without one or the other closing. And this is after sending my phone in for a replacement.

I hope they issue a software fix for this with the release of the Note 5.

I too have had similar issues,
bought it a week before the active came out for att..

wished I had taken it back then it was only a week in and started having issues.

I also own the s5 us cellular, it is fantastic, very little lag if any flawless screen and app openings.

But... back to this POS s6 edge; I was an iPhone user since thr first one and had almost every one since then. Loved the s5 and thought the edge would be a little nicer then the iPhone 6..do I went with it but..

The s6 isn't as customizable as some say granted u can download third party apps u can't tinker with network association as lolipop doesn't allow it.

But yesterday I used it and for some reason when I charged it the battery started to get really hot and the phone it self runs hot when the system runs to much stupid sh×t. It's not any apps doing the dirty deed of taking up precious memory from an octa core processor. Which can get hot sure but there has been news of lolipop ND samsung fcd something up and it wasn't right since the get go.

I also get the in-between screen hesitations and blank screens alot more then I feel comfortable dealing with.

Yes vent...

I'm frustrated.
Dissapointed by samsung
I have bought their tvs phones and other gadgets along the way never to be dissapointed.

Might go to the att store and see if they are having similar issues with other phones.

Might not wait in line.

Who knows the thing is this phone should work flawlessly out of the box just like the s5 does for me still to this day even w a cracked screen.

Yep that's exactly what was happening to my edge, starting about a month after I purchased it from T-Mobile. It would freeze overnight and be completely unresponsive with a black screen. After doing the multi-button resuscitation each time and then checking battery history it would reveal that the CPU was pegged at 100%, which of course zapped the battery really quickly as well. A factory reset, only allowing upload of the most basic apps, and disabling updates didn't help at all. Still happened. The only thing that I found that worked was to coerce T-Mobile into letting me switch to HTC. I think someone accidentally sneezed "SHIP IT!" at the factory.
