Why is my GS3 getting up to 97-99? while on charge? It just started doing this.

Only noticed it on my car charger, haven't seen it on the wall charger yet.

Are you using the phone for anything while it's charging in the car? I've noticed that if I'm using navigation, listening to Pandora, and charging, the phone gets pretty not. That situation is putting a fair bit lf load on the radios and cpu, drawing a lot of charge out of the battery at the same time the charger's pumping current in.

Actually, no. Maybe a phone call or text but nothing that would be over loading, I would think....
Also, it didn't get above 83? on my wall charger last night but battery life had been really crappy today.

Time to get a new battery? If you want to get one then get the regular size battery for the S3 that has 7000 Mah of power. I think the battery is faulty and you need a replacement. Consider the one I just mentioned it triples the battery power. Instead of 15 hours of heavy use on 1 charge it lasts over a day on heavy use.

Where can I get that at and how much?

I did let my phone go all the way dead and left it dead for about 3 hours (longest 3 hours of my life) and today battery life was about 18 hours with 3 hours screen time.

Amazon. I think for about $16.00. Never let it fully die out. If it does then it will take a lot of time to get fully charged.

I usually do not let it fully die but this time I figured, what the hell.... Can't hurt anything.

I had been planning on buying a second/replacement battery just haven't done so yet. Haven't really made up my mind if I want the extra bulk of an extended battery and give up my Otterbox or just get OEM replacements.

You can get the portable usb charger. You can charge from anywhere by plugging the usb cable from phone to the charging box.
