Getting more and more tempted to try the Note.

Well I went in AT&T yesterday and played with the Note for the 2nd time and I have to say that I'm getting very tempted to give it a try. The more I play with it the more I seem to like it. After only spending about 10-15 minutes with it, going back to my little iPhone screen was difficult. It probably helps that I'm over 40 and my eyes aren't what they used to be and having that extra screen real estate was nice. I have a feeling that at some point I pull the trigger and give it a go. There is only one way to find out if a phone is right for you, give it a try.

Anyone else been in to play with it getting tempted?

I agree. I played around with the Galaxy Note for about 30 or so minutes and I loved it. despite reviews I think its a perfect size. not "too big". I thought texting was going to be difficult on such a big screen but nah it was just right.
Going outside the at&t store and unfortunately back to my iPhone, I was instantly reminded of the HP Veer LOL.
Also tested AT&T's LTE in my area using speedtest. it was around 18-20 mbps with the highest test i got was 24 mbps. Thats as fast as my cable internet here! (San Diego, CA)

Amazon has the Note for $249. Thats my chance. *evil laugh*
:p

I bought it the day it came out and I will tell you the size is a benefit not a problem. I am 53 and my eyes love this screen. IMHO typing is easier as the keyboard is bigger than my previous SII on which I used one finger and my fat fingers weren't very accurate, now I am back to using both thumbs again as I did on the Blackberry and much faster. Websites love the extra screen size as well. So far the only problem I have had is deleting emails one handed my thumb just gets to the check mark on the emails at the top of the page :-)

took the wife to check out the note as she was due for an upgrade, we both played with it and liked it alot,I had to have it so I made a deal with her that she could have my 2 month old skyrocket and a new kindle fire if she left me use her upgrade for the note.I'm lovin the note and she is lovin the skyrocket(coming from an aria) and kindle.

rich250: thats a pretty good trade... Hey at least both of you are happy... This phone is amazing...

It will only get worse. I was the same way last November when they launched internationally. I kept trying to talk myself out of it but really liked the specs etc mainly because I was tired of Samsung's low resolution screens (skyrocket) while others were coming out with HD screens. I finally pulled the trigger and love the GNote! Since I live in an LTE area of course I had to get the ATT version! By By skyrocket! The only way this ATT GNote will go back before 30 days is up is if they release specs on a quad core GNote or similar at MWC this week.

I have 22 hours left on my eBay auction for my iPhone 4!
Then 2.5 weeks until I'm eligible for an early upgrade!
I can't wait to get this massive phone!:)

I have been to AT&T twice before the release and once after. It looks like I can keep my unlimited data plan and only have to pay a $36 billable upgrade fee. The GPS quality is a make or break thing for me because the main reason for the upgrade is to replace my Captivate's crappy GPS. I am also tired of having to zoom in on web pages because of my old eyes. One more trip for a demo and I am probably going all in. I wonder if they will let me install "GPS Test" to see how many satellites show up.

Sitting in an upstairs bedroom on the south side of the house, GPS Test shows IN VIEW 24, IN USE 21. I have a Captivate also and the GPS is just about useless in it, but it works quite well in the GNote. Took a road trip yesterday and it was spot on the whole way. The thing that sold me on the Note is the thing that so many have ranted about and that's the size. I personally love it. It is big but not too big and the big screen is fantastic for my 50+ eyesight I carry it in my shirt pocket and it fits just fine. The camera lens just clears the top of the pocket, so yes it does stick out about an inch but that is not a problem for me. Being able to read an article on a webpage without having to expand it and then scroll left and right continuously is wonderful.

I also abandoned my lousy small iPhone. The screen size is the best feature of the Note, and once you have it, you are totally spoiled. I don't even like my wife's Droid Razr anymore.
The only people complaining about the size are the people who do not have it.

I drive a service van from site to site. We recently picked up a chain of banks so im going further and further to locations I've never been. Went from iphone to windows phone to Note. This has been my best experience with gps and navigation. I even bought the car dock.

sent from a gigantic phone

I took a trip to the local (North San Diego... Escondido) AT&T store to check the big girl out. I liked it a lot. I didn't think I would like the white version, but I thought it looked very nice. The S-pen was fun to use.

I am running the Galaxy S2 now and am very happy with it, but the Note is tempting. I told myself it would take three things to get me to buy a new phone.
1. HD display.
2. ICS
3. LTE (since it is available in my area)
Perhaps in a few months ICS will be out for it and maybe the price will be down by then. If I didn't already have a newer phone, I would jump on it.

That clinched it. The fourth trip to AT&T and I came away a new Big Ass Phone(BAP). :) The GPS is amazing, thanks.

So on my 3rd trip to AT&T to play with the Note guess what happened? Yep, I GOT IT!!! On day two with it and so far so good.
