I didn't want to add to some related threads already going about this topic because this is slightly different. This issue is with T-Mobile and not Google. After we got our phones from Google Play, I contacted T-Mobile last Sat. to get service started. First, I tried to do everything on the T-Mobile website since there's no store here. I got to the very last button and was told my order could not be completed on the web and to call customer service. The guy was very polite and told me that I would be able to port our existing Verizon and AT&T numbers when I called 611 to activate the phone. When I called 611 a number of times, I got a recorded message that all circuits were busy. I called customer service via landline and was told that numbers had already been assigned to our phones and that they were activated. I then had to call a different number that deals with porting. The lady was very nice and kept asking for a Verizon account number which I didn't have but she got it from Verizon. The same thing happened the next day with AT&T. My only complaint with T-Mobile so far is that they double billed me for the sim cards and 2gb add ons. Although some of the people I dealt with were obviously not born in the U.S., they were very polite and knew their jobs. I had some difficult understanding them because they spoke slightly too fast for the accents they had, but I was not disappointed with the service at all. I'm still having trouble getting the google calendar sync'd with 2 google accounts, but this is not the fault of T-Moble.

I'm just writing this to pass on my experience in case it might be of use to others. YMMV.

Well, congratulations! I have been on T-mobile since last August, and thus far, I have been a very happy camper. As a Google Voice user, I take full advantage of the $30, 5GB prepaid plan, receiving and making most of my calls over VoIP (either on my computer or on my phone). Being on T-mobile has cut my phone bill from $80 to $30 a month, I have great reception where I live and work, and I am absolutely in love with my Nexus 4.

We have 2 lines on a $100/mo family plan. I might be able to knock it down to $80 if we discontinue the 2gb add-ons. Actually, things were cheaper for us when we had our prepaid plans with Verizon and AT&T. We just had prepaid flip phones and we got by with both for $200/yr. since we just used talk and didn't text. . Mine was $8 at Walmart. However, we wanted many of the smartphone features so we got Nexus 4's. We also use voip and are using an Obi110n for it. That cost $50 to buy and we have no monthly charges except for our At&T dsl which we have to have for our pc's anyway. We also have Roku for streaming from Amazon Prime. I guess now we are paying for the convenience, but we like to do video calls to our grand kids who live some distance from us.

I hear you. I have a Nexus 4 on the infamous $30/month T-Mobile plan. My previous phone was a prepaid flip phone. Using that once or twice a week, a $30 refill lasted 2-3 months and now I'm paying that much each and every month. Of course, I also have 24x7 access to the internet when I'm not home, including email, forums, commercial websites, etc. So far it's looking to be well worth the extra $200/year for the convenience

Last night I got the master calendar issue resolved. Since be both have CRS, we had to bite the bullet and get phones and a plan where we can keep our schedules coordinated. We have missed some good events and caused ourselves some embarrassment because we forgot things. Now the "his and her" issue is pretty well taken care of ;). These phones are way easier to text with which was something we didn't do in the past.
