Getting rid of albumthumbs folder

What is the folder albumthumbs? By which app is it created and how to make it stop? It keeps recreating the images inside. And some of them are .jpg so the also show up in the gallary app which is anoying.
It's located at: device storage->albumthumbs

Welcome to Android Central! What thumbnails do you see? Are they of your own photos, or images from websites, or from apps? These kinds of thumbnails are generated automatically by the system and are what you see whenever the phone shows you thumbnails. If you delete them, they'll get generated again, so I don't think it'll help in the long run.
