Well, after 2 weeks with the device including a family vacation to Disney World, I am getting rid of the HTC 10. While there are many features that I like about the device, including the near-stock Android experience, using it side-by-side with the Galaxy S7 for the 2 weeks led me to the decision to get rid of the 10. The main reason why: the camera. The photos taken from the 10 don't come close to the photos taken from the S7. Disney World and the various backdrops and sceneries the resort provides were the perfect proving grounds for each camera. I toyed with the idea of keeping the 10 as a backup device, but I think instead I will go with the Nexus 6P as the backup. Everyone has a different experience with a device, but for me, the camera on the 10 just couldn't cut it.

Yea, Jacks Disneyworld photos in the other thread pretty much put this argument to rest. Plus, even in published comparison articles they look extremely similar (I tend to prefer the 10's bright/exposed nature but to each his own). If you couldn't get the hang of the cam though, fair enough and I hope you enjoy the S7.

That's really an awesome picture

Thanks! All I did was point and shoot. The only shots that looked awful were the ones I'd mucked about with the exposure, or it was too dark and there was too much movement. The shots from my Sony 18 megapixel camera looked like rubbish in comparison to the 10.

And I'm not trying to be argumentative by posting this picture. It's just that I'm not seeing the complaints people are making about the camera.

Be sure not to drop the S7. The camera will probably not work any longer.

Geez guys, just let him go. He wasn't happy so let him go. Its bad when S7 users come in here and whine and beat the drum in a HTC forum...just as bad when HTC users are "bad sports" when they leave.

Looks real nice. Hoping to get there next year. Starting my research now. Not. Cheap. LOL! I didn't expect it to be but hoooo boy.

Talk directly to a Disney rep. They can find deals you never knew existed and help you plan things out.
[And yes, you go all the way to the top of Spaceship Earth!]

Just bought the HTC 10 today after a hiatus for a year. I passed on the M9 because I knew the camera would be garbage and I'm currently the owner of a Nexus 6p as well as the HTC 10. I have to say that I'm really pissed with all of the reviews lauding this phone. It has two major issues IMO. The Wi-Fi connection is wonky AF. My Nexus running side by side with the 10 never lost connection whereas the 10 kept dropping in and out of Wi-Fi. I actually had to turn Wi-Fi off. Part 2, the camera is still a chunk of garbage. And, that's putting it nicely. It won't focus when the light dims and the damn thing still blows out highlights like nobody's business. I love the music processor, but boomsound is considerably weaker than previous versions. I also love how several of the reviewers said that if you cover the bottom speaker it barely affects the sound. That's a straight out lie. You cover the bottom speaker and it's tinsel town city. I get that everyone wants HTC to succeed, but this brand is circling the drain fast and in a hurry. They have to have the worst camera software engineers ever. I don't see how they could mess the camera up with such strong specs, but leave it to HTC to fuk up the camera. I'm just so mad that I believed the hype. The workmanship of the phone is great, but that's just not enough.

What I was hoping for was a camera that could take shots in auto and be serviceable, but it's just not. I don't want to fiddle with pro mode.
