Getting the S9+ and keeping my N8

Stereo speakers is a plus and always nice when there is an upgrade in camera and the smaller form factor might make it a better carry phone than my Note 8...

But the 4gb ram is a major step back.

Haven't experiences the lag issue on my Note known to happen over time in other Galaxies and will contribute this most likely to the 6gb of memory. Not interested in finding out on a 4gb Samsung.

Nope. My S8+ running Oreo release (Official leak) is running far too well to justify another down payment on a phone that's not really much nicer to justify the down payment and new 18month contract. I always pay off my phone's first so I can sell them to pay for a lot of the new one. Simply nothing new enough to justify it so I always wait the 2 years so I'll be getting the SX or whatever they'll be calling it it maybe Note 9 in a year or so... we'll see what comes out and for what price but now? no way....no I certainly give to justify it.

agreed. my S8+ is 0LENTY fast and even faster since I updated it with the Oreo leak last week so I'll definitely be waiting until it's paid off and then go up to the note 9 or SX (or whatever they'll name the S10 we'll see) but not enough features it speed increase over the S8+ to justify another 18mo contract and 137.00 down payment. I always pay mine off so I can sell them outright unlocked to help pay for the new device which usually covers about half of it or so depending on the one I upgrade to at the time

Probably s9 plus but need better battery life or better camera or good specs.

Or big rumor of note 9 is a under display fingerprint scanner. That is a game changer.
But I buy s9 plus .

My pockets aren't deep enough to afford buying $1,000 phones every year. I have an LG V20 that I swap out with my Note 8 as my daily driver so between the two of them I should be good in the smart phone department for a few years.

I would love to keep my note 8 for 2 years and wait for note 10, but I know I'll fold when note 9 comes out. Highly unlikely I'll be able to resist the temptation to upgrade. Dang addiction, it's very strong.

Hell NO! I don't have a money tree. :-)

I spent a boat load of money buying the S8+ and Note 8 in 2017 so I won't be donating to the Samsung fund for a while.

Seriously though, I find that upgrading tech at least every 2 years is the way the go. I don't see a whole lot of difference from one year to the next.

Same here. I bought the S8 Plus and then bought the Note 8 and Bought the Tab s3 on Sunday. Way too much to be spending. I will get the Note 9 in Sept when it comes out though!

Don't forget all the cases you buy that factors into cost too.

The N8 is the first time in a while I'm going to keep it until the N9. I usually upgrade between the S and Note series, but every time I do I miss the Note more then the S series. So this time I will be using both cause I'm just a tech junkie. Anyone else keeping both or just upgrading to the S9+?

Going to see what it offers but it's likely that I'll get an s9+ and keep my note 8 because I love it.

IMO I have decided that I am going to be looking for a midrange Good non-Samsung for the next round. I really like Samsung products in general, but their aggressive pricing coming after the Note 7, and their bloatware, and the current pressure to use Samsung semi-useful products (like Bixby) has just has finally worn me out.
I have been using Samsung as my "go to" for many years, and the Note was my device, but $1000.00 for a phone is just too much. Processors are improving, which is great, but none of the increase in power that is undoubtedly coming in chips that must cost the mfg less is showing up in our charges for phones. I was always a Note lover, but Samsung phones are just charging too much premium for the name!!!

If you can live with not having A+ camera, $500 Essential Phone looks appealing. I gave BlackBerry a go (DTEK 50/60 and PRIV) but in the end came back to Sammy.

I thought I was a phone addict: at least 3 a year. No more. S8+ & Note 8 are so good my phone lust has ended.

I had a terrible phone issue beforw the Note 8 came out. Now I dont. Theres no need this for me is the best by far.

No need to upgrade from Note8 for me. It already does everything I need it to do. Sure, the camera will be upgraded on the S9, but it's still not a Note. If you don't need a Note and have the funds, go for it.

I am in the minority here as I think the s9+ would be a downgrade from the Note 8. I will wait for the Note 9.

Same here. I will get Note 9. The last two years I've spent a lot of cash. I bought the s7 in 2016 then the Note 7, then got S7 edge when I had to give it up. Then I bought a V20 which I hated so I went back to my edge. Then I bought the s8 plus and then got the Note 8.

It is a downgrade from the Note8 in some areas. Yes, it will be slightly faster and have a slightly better camera. But, you're losing everything related to the S-pen. I never would have veered off the Note path if it wasn't for the Note7 recall.

Same here. Glad I waited to get the Note 7.i settled for the s8 plus. Glad I didn't end up going in earlier and having to get the s7. I've heard nothing good about that one. Very positive experience with the s8+.

The more I read about the S9 series, there's just no real upgrades over the note 8. There are some minimal things but that's it. Less ram, smaller screen, no S pen for $1000? It's def a no for me. The Note 9 is the only phone that can take the note 8 off of the throne.

Only for people who absolutely hate the current FPS position :p
