Ghost icons on photos

I have very faint ghost icons on my photos. They appear to be home screen icons. If I send the photos, the icons are not on the photos when viewing on the receiving device,so I assume that the problem is not with the camera.
OTHER than a factory reset, how can it be fixed? Thanks.

Does this only happen when viewing in photos or in the camera app itself or both?
If you move the icons do they move when viewing the photos?
Can you take a screenshot?

Ugh, that sounds like burn-in. There's an easy way to be sure, zoom in any picture and if the ghost icons don't get bigger then it's definitely burn-in. This is a hardware issue with LED displays and unfortunately there's not much you can do to fix it.

The objects I call ICONS are so faint, there are almost invisible. They only can be seen on white backgrounds in the upper part of the photo. They are only seen in the viewer of Google Photos. If viewed elsewhere, I can't see them. I don't think it can be burn-in because my screen is set to timeout after 1 minute. It's been that way since I bought the Pixel 3
It's such a minor issue, I'm going to ignore it.

Still sounds like burn in, which can happen over time (especially in a 4 year old phone). A screen timeout of 1 minute could still contribute to burn in, e.g. if the phone habitually wakes up for some reason, leading to an extended period of screen on time (which then increases the risk of burn in).
