Gingerbread automatic?

Is the gingerbread an automatic upgrade, or do we get to choose whether or not to put it on our Inspires? My Inspire is completely perrrrrfect as is.

You have to click the HTC WiFi update or download it. You can keep 2.2 on your phone, it is not automatic.

If you ever call 611 for support they will do little to help you if you are running an old load. This is not specific to Android.
