Gingerbread for Fascinate. When?

As BMX put it, almost no resources are being given for this.

In other words; the G1 is more likely to get Gingerbread than the Fascinate.

i seen a couple pigs flying it must mean the fascinate got froyo :) that took forever i doubt gb will ever hit the fascinate.

We have Gingerbread.

I mean yeah... you can't make any phone calls on it... but we do have it.

Also, as the rest of the SGS line is getting GB then I'm sure we'll see it eventually. Just don't hold your breath...

The Fascinate will likely never get an official gingerbread update. Verizon and samsung don't care about it, frankly.

Samsung has stated the Galaxy S line will be getting Gingerbread. The i9000 series has been getting it. Other SGS models are also being tested with it. I don't see a reason why the i500 won't also get it, but it won't be tomorrow, next week, next month...

It won't get it because Verizon doesn't care. They're not going to devote any resources to testing and approving an update.

Verizon might be the stopping block, but if that becomes the case, I can see Samsung releasing the source code and CM7 running away with it. They've been doing a pretty good job of getting most of Gingerbread already up and running on the i500. If they can get through the few hurdles left, it won't really matter if Samsung doesn't release source code, or Verizon decides not to release it. There will be plenty of options in the future.
