Gingerbread for the X is out

Woke up this morning and my phone alerted me to a new version ready to be installed. 2.3.340. Gingerbread if I'm not mistaken. Anybody else get it pushed to them or able to pull it?

That's just the system version, unrelated.. Android version is still 2.2.1, aka FroYo.

It's not Gingerbread. It is an update to froyo.

You are mistaken. That's not Gingerbread, it is Android version 2.2.1 which was released a week or two ago now. Pretty much everyone has it by now.

You are mistaking the system version for the android version.

The thing most people don't realize though, is now when you google search this topic, it's the 4th from the top.

And now unsuspecting people will come here(great for you because of your ads, bad for ppl looking for a legit release) thinking it's out when it's not.

Sorry about the mistake. I thought 2.3 was gingerbread. Can someone tell me how to change the thread title so this thread doesn't blow up? Sorry again guys.

2.3 is Gingerbread but the update you saw was system version 2.3.340 which isn't.
You want to look at your Android version, that'll say 2.2.1.
when GB hits it'll say 2.3
