Gingerbread on Revo?

Mine has been trying to update (I guess to Gingerbread?) for the past 2 hours. It stated there was an update that would take approximately 10 min and the phone would turn off and on. well, it has been turning off and on for about 2 hours and is not usable at all. I have turned it off, taken out the battery, and it continues to just turn on and off (and have the wrong time).

Anyone else have this prob? :(

Got my update a few hours ago. It scared the crap out of me because it started automatically, before I even knew that we were getting an update. I pulled it out of my pocket and it was in the middle of the android unpacking sequence. Anyway updated phone has worked great so far. I'll be interested if it fixed any of the issues I've had with random rebooting.

The soft keys don't light up any more. That's real annoying.

...and the fix for this is to do a very quick tap on the power button and the lights come back. You have to do this after every reboot. Real annoying.

The only real noticeable differences I can see so far is the change in the manage applications settings, the color of the network icons, and the fact that the network data icon is hidden when connected to WiFi. All of them are good changes in my opinion. One thing that annoyed me about my wife's Revolution was that the 4G icon would stay on even if I turned WiFi on.

There's also a new bootimation. I'm wondering if the battery will last longer than 8 hours or if by some luck its actually rootable. I do like that its 2.3.4 though I really haven't seem a lot of differences either.

As with maisy321, my LGR is now in an endless reboot cycle. Bricked! Verizon is sending me a replacement.

Actually rootable, yes.

Actually rootable?? Have you found a way I haven't? I tried Super-One-Click but it got stuck at step #6. I toggeled USB Debugging and it would go to 7 and mention Gingerbreak but then it would fail.

Life after Froyo is not that great so far. Here are my problems:
1. I hear terrible noise while video chatting via Skype.
2. I can only hear through my head phones + the trashy noise while video chatting via Gtalk (Tango is a waste of time to try, but I did anyway and had the same results).
3. The performance of my phones speed has decreased especially when navigating back to the home screen.

That's it so far. Do you guys have any problems so far?

My soft keys don't light up anymore. Tapping the power button does not work. Any fixes yet?

Tap the power key enough to turn it off but not enough to bring up the Power Off screen. When you unlock the screen, your keys should be back on.

Im having problems with connecting to 4gLTE and 3G.... if I do a battery pull, I will get 4G connection for a few moments but will drop off after that.

The only problem that I have had since the update is that juice defender no longer works. Juice Defender can still disable mobile data, but is no longer capable of re-enabling data. Good news though is that I haven't had any random reboots since the update. (*keeps fingers crossed*).
