Gingerbread Rollout Thread!

My store has been doing an average of 6-7 devices per day. I updated mine as well. Battery life is improved and I noticed swype is updated, seems much more accurate

Its a little different, all the numbers are on the top row for example, and the word choice window is different. I think its much better than it was

Got mine updated yesterday, took no more then 15 minutes for the update..as was mentioned before battery life is substantially better! As well as the overall performance and transitioning of the phone. The big downside, for me at least, as that im unable to re-root it which is a nightmare because i backed up my apps using titanium which is a root only app..i should of researched more as im just starting to read up on HTC locking the bootloader on there gingerbread phones.

So other then the root issue your enjoying the update...good, I'm thinking of trying sharing tomorrow. How much haas the battery improved?

Two hours would rock, I'm working a 9-5 right now, changing in 2 weeks though.

So when you upgrade and it wipes your phone (or if you were to just change phones), you're not able to log into the Market with your ID and re-download all your apps automatically?

You can log back in to the same gmail again and re download the apps one by one. You can amadou go to market.android.com and install them back on your device a lot quicker

Just found out today that we are being instructed to not update the G2 anymore. We are seeing some phones having problems getting updated. Just a heads up

I noticed that one of my coworkers was struggling with updating his G2 yesterday. Hopefully they can get it figured out!

I just got my notification that the firmware update has been downloaded, along with an update 'now' or defer' it for an hour, two, or a day. Battery was at 30% so I put it on charge and checked AC forums.

Before I update I want to know if anyone has been able to re-root their phones. I got a perma-root using Visionary a while back, and want to be sure I can still get root to re-install my backups.

Ohh, and has anyone been able to tether with the new Gingerbread update? I use my hotspot app occasionally to help buddies with other carriers phones get access when they have a poor signal. What with ATT's recent slamming of tethering, I wanted to double check.

Thanks!
