Gingerbread update is coming!!

I see nobody even replying to this thread anymore. Seems like we have all given up on Gingerbread update. I cannot find any information anywhere. And now they are talking about Ice Cream Sandwich! Galaxy 2 is out. New I-Phone coming. I guess all us Infuse folks just being left behind. Not sure who to blame, but, thanks for nothing.
Just read an article saying that 2.3.4 has been "PROMISED" for the Infuse by mid October along with all of the other Sammy's running Froyo. Guess we will wait and see.

I'll believe it when I see it. Right now, I'm not believing anything that's out there.
I've learned that Samsung is bad at updating released phones. I.knew this when I bought the Infuse but, I decided that while I'd love an official update to GB, I can root and get it that way anyway. In the meantime, after coming from years and years with broken and defective Blackberries, this Infuse is like a dream come true. The phone works! That right there is most important to me. I guess I have low expectations after Blackberry! Lol
I remember reading the original post from at&t on twitter that Gingerbread was finally coming to the infuse by end of the month.. That of course was back in August and here we are in October. The above link states that at&t has again said that they will be rolling out gingerbread, this time by the middle of October. Here it's October 12th, so i suppose we'll see what happens soon. I have put a lot of thought into rooting my Infuse, but I haven't found a good enough reason to do so. My device is pretty amazing with the stock os (Froyo), and I'd rather wait till the official gingerbread update is released, rather than rooting my phone. Sorry, I know some of you will see that as sacrilegious, but it's my own personal opinion. Bottom line is, At&t needs to get off of their ass and roll out the update already. I realize the twitter post that was made in August was done so in error, but at&t should have either made good on that, or issued a retraction admitting they had eff'd up.
I just want the update so i can use skype. I moved to germany and would love to be able to skype my mom on the go. Other than that i am happy with the phone as is. I am rooted but thats only to freeze the app that tells me i dont have the att tethering plan. I wish i could get a fresh OS that doesnt have a link to ATT. Seeing as its a att exclusive phone I know that wont happen but what ever.
You could always flash a ROM such as MIUI or Serendipity.

I'm running stock, and I can use the video chat and skype feature just fine. Don't need Gingerbread for that.

I wonder if, the Infuse seemingly being ignored, has anything to do with it being one of the phones named in the Apple/Samsung lawsuit?
My phone is rooted, but still with stock 2.2. I also so use skype with the front camera with no issues. Perhaps there's been an update. Not sure, but it is working.
