Gingerbread update

I am finally updating my phone but just want to make sure my apps r going to be retrievable. I used apps to sd to send all my apps to my sd card. Will i be able to retrieve them if this update wipes my phone? And if so, how would i do that?

You can either use something like mybackuppro or just redownload and reinstall all your apps

Moving the apps to sd card would be the safe option
