I went to put some money in Playstore to have a balance on hand to pay for apps and Playstore wants to have your Paypal info so they can charge automatically. Is this safe? Paypal is tied to my bank account and seems a unsafe thing to give autorization to someone else....Thanks!

Depends on your personal preference. The Play Store is Google so if you trust them you could link it -- If not then you don't have to.

Well nothing is 100%, and every exposure unfolds levels of risk. For me, and how infrequently I purchase it's not worth it. I have a separate card I use for www purchases. I only keep 2-3 hundred $ in that acct at any given time. So for play store I have to manually enter it... no biggie.

FWIW I am a CC/identity fraud victim... NOT a fun experience.

Thanks for the inputs, I'll think further about giving my payment info out. Sorry kramer5150 about the identity stolen, I can just imagine a nightmare that it was. Good idea about the limited funds account. I do something similar with my auto teller machine account, I keep it drawing on a separate account where there's very little money.

It will not create any problem I have tried this. It purely depends upon your trust if you want then you can do PayPal.

Actually I've had Paypal for decades on my PC and deal with them regularly on ebay buy and sells. Also on my phone provider. Never had a problem. I guess this post was one of my foolish posts...!

Agree with you. In case of auto payment, I don't trust any site. I would better like to enter it all the time. You can't even trust google completely because there are few apps in google Playstore which are developed to earn money anyhow. For this these apps try to make fool the user by giving waste in return of your money. When you use these apps they will keep on displaying useless ads and waiting for your one click on ads to grab money from you.

A separate account for online purchases is always a good idea. Doing the same.

Can't you just get a Google Play store gift card and load that there? (Assuming that they are available where you are).
