Given everything known would you get the M9 if you don't have it yet?

It may work for you. But it's a TouchWiz/Samsung issue in general among the many buggy issues with that software that was supposed to be revamped.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge "Ok Google" Everywhere feature returning | TalkAndroid.com

Yeah I was aware of that. Mine had disappeared too. Apparently it was an issue with Samsung S-Voice and Ok Google not cooperating with each other...atleast its fixed now.

Touchwiz did used to be buggy on the S4 and below, but the S6 Touchwiz is actually pretty good. I decided to stick with TW on my S6 and its pretty good actually and fast. Samsung finally listening to its consumers

Also very buggy on the S5. Can't speak for the S6 but I still hear a lot of complaints. I also understand that Samsung decided to dumb it down. I keep hearing described as cartoonish for some reason. I'm only currently familiar with it on my wife's Note 4 and she seems to disappointed with it compared to the Note 2 she had. I have to agree, instead of making progress with Touchwiz, Samsung seems to be regressing with it. Nova seems to be more popular with Sammy users.

Just ordered one.
My wife has had an M9 since they first arrived in the UK.
It's superb. Build quality is second to none. It has an SD Card Slot and, despite no OIS, the camera shots that we've taken with the device have been brilliant. :D

Yup, Nova will always be the superior option to me as well. The themes on the Samsung Theme store are not great but there are a few good ones. Maybe when the Note 4 gets 5.1 with Themes, your wife will enjoy them, a lot of them are girly

I did all my research before I bought it. I knew the camera wasn't going to be as good as the S6. That, in my opinion, is really the only thing to complain about on this device. It really is quite nice.

I have been using mine very heavily over the last few month and it has been great...and my battery life is even getting better...

I would, but then again I'd take almost any flagship over the S6. In fact I kinda want a LG G4 too. I've already bought the M9, a Moto 360, and 128GB iPhone 6 this year. Other than a new laptop I'm done for the year. (edit: I hope. LOL)

Just do it, i have the same problem lol..Since Nov, I've bought the ipad air 2, a lenovo laptop, nexus 6, one m9, and lg g4. I think im done tho...m9 is faster and has better battery life and build, but the camera is where the g4 shines. Also like how i get more screen from a similar sized phone

How would you compare the overall performance of the G4 and M9? Is the G4 as snappy and lag-free?

The G4 is definitely snappy and lag free, with little to no heat. I do think the m9 is more fluid and i differently prefer sense over lg ux

Looks like a nice device. Not sure if I can justify buying a third device this year though.

I had an HTC One Max and I was gonna upgrade to an M9. I was fortunate that my wife upgraded to an M9 first and I waited. I fiddled with her phone a lot, and it was ok. I had issues with my One Max battery starting to lose its charge since I had at for over two years. So I decided to wait and picked up an LG G4. This phone is quite a bit better than my wife's M9 and leagues better than my One Max. They get almost the same battery time about 4 1/2 to 5 hours SOT with the edge going to the M9. Functionality and speed are pretty much on par with each other with a slight edge to the G4 even with LG's UX I imo. The interchangeable battery is where it was the deal breaker for me. I am a power user and I'm on my phone all day. The fact I can switch it out and go from zero to a hundred percent in a minute is awesome. I also don't have to worry about sending in my phone just to replace the battery. My One Max had easy all day battery life when I first got it. So does the M9. In two years, my One Max had to be on the charger by 3 pm. The M9 will probably go that route too after a couple of years unless I send the phone into HTC to replace the battery paying anywhere from $45 to $100 plus not having a phone when I do ship it out.

I am interested in what the M10 brings though. Hoping for good things from HTC.

I had the M8 which took good pictures, but not great pictures. Went to the M9 and took a chance. The camera is clearly subpar to the competition. I've changed manual settings per other articles/posts and still get inconsistent results. I like to point and shoot which I had no issues with on the GS3 & GS4. The M9 as a phone is a solid performer....no doubt there. Good quality, sharp looks, great performance and crystal clear sound. However we are talking about the camera. No OIS on M9 was shocking to me. The camera is essential to me. I don't want to be concerned about photo quality every single time I take a picture. Yet, that's been the case for the past few weeks. Some pictures are good and others are terrible. My friend has the S6 and the pictures and video are much better than my M9. So from my experience, the M9 was a decent bump from the M8 but a complete fail on a 20 Megapixel camera. To add insult to injury, HTC support was no help. They told me to send it in for service. I also sent them a support email Wednesday of last week and have not received a reply. Clearly they know this is an issue as they rolled out a software update a few weeks back that improved the camera slightly. I'm officially tapping out on HTC until some major changes take place on future models. That is if they can stay in the game. Funny article I read about the 24k Gold M9. The pictures of the device looked great, but they were taken with an iPhone. Ouch....
