Glass protector that's working! Finally!

The price difference is also quality and free lifetime replacements :) I find the cheap ones on Amazon don't offer lifetime replacements usually.

Good point. The Otao protector offers 18 months replacement. I'm satsifed with that. BodyGuardz charges $5.95 shipping for a new one and you have to send back your old one so that's probably another couple of bucks.

I'm really not having any problem with quality or touch sensitivity. It works great.

FYI all.... I emailed Otao 10 mintues ago using the email address they had replied to me on when I needed the replacement. Already got a response. They said they will be back in stock in 2 days.

You have to pay shipping to you on Zagg or any of the lifetime ones. It's usually $5.95. The return shipping is usually just a $0.49 cent stamp. They provide the envelope. You just toss in the old protector and the slip and off you go.

I just put the otao one on after my whitedome one cracked and I must say it's not that good. Oleophobic coating is definitely not as good and there is much more glare. Maybe it's just my install but there is some clicking from time to time. The only up side to it is the price and I seems to be a little bit smaller so it's compatible with more cases.

Good news about the restock coming. Thanks for the heads up.

I just got my Otao and put it on, does anyone know if the protector is water resistant? Thanks

I've used my s8/Otao combo in the rain without issue, but wouldn't count on it surviving being submerged and coming out unscathed. The adhesive is only on the edges so I would assume liquid could theoretically seep under the protector if there was even a tiny area that didn't adhere.

Ok, thanks

I got my Otao in last night. It went on with no problems and it feels and looks great. I have no issues with my Otterbox Symmetry case.

I got mine today. Was so easy to put on. Now hoping Its stays on. 😊
My screen now looks so bright and clean, then film that was easily pushed up and getting dust in corners.
Is everyone still liking there's and no problems?

So far so good after a week. We'll see how it survives a trip to Okinawa.

Although the otao is much cheaper than the whitestone dome it doesn't really compare. Whitestone is more expensive but it's got much less glare and a much better oleophobic coating. The otao also has that micro dot thing going on.

I don't know anything about the micro dot,
Your referring to. All I know is it's nice and clear and clean looking.

Microdot is a technology used in glass screen protectors for phones with curved displays. It's also known as dot matrix. It is supposed to help keep the protector stuck to the screen without having to use adhesive on the display. The only adhesive is along the edges.

Under bright lighting it can cause more reflection. When the screen is off you can see little dots on the screen.

The dots are not as pronounced on my Otao as it was on the invishield I previously used. I haven't had any issues with reading the display in bright sunlight. Of course that is subjective. Others may find it harder to see and may not like the dots or find them distracting.

Interesting. I did not know that. I agree I don't really notice it but it can be hard to see the screen in sunlight. I don't know if that's the screen protector or the phone, or both. I haven't used the phone outside without the protector.

Good to know this.

I've never seen them, so for. Lol

You almost have to look at the protector before you put it on the phone. The dot matrix on my Otao is very unobtrusive. Don't notice it at all and as generatti explains, there is a reason for it.

Mine is into week 4. Still in place with no sensitivity issues. Tiny area of rainbow that I don't see unless the screen is off. Bought myself an extra and one for my daughter as well. Money well spent. Gives me peace of mind.
