Glass Protectors?

Anyone using them here? Any tips on installation please? I keep getting 'spiderweb' effects under mine.

What are the best ones to get? Was looking at the Nillkin ones.

I don't use glass screen protectors. There are some problems with the clarity of the screen later on.

In what way? I've no clarity problems with mine after several months of use.

Carefully, even then I got a bit of dust trapped the first time, I tried lifting it and using the sticky thing that came with my protector that is supposed to help take off the dust and that just made it look worse. Then I took it off again, cleaned both the screen and protector with water and reapplied it, I still have a small air bubble on the bottom bezel, but I decided to live with it as it isn't too noticeable/bothersome.

I'm afraid I don't have any special tricks to impart, but you may find using a bit of water on the screen and screen protector helps get rid of the air bubbles, though it can leave temporary water marks which should disappear after a day or two.

I won't ever go back to the old style. I do have a small air pocket by the proximity sensor and 2 on the very bottom below the screen, but its way better than the plastic ones.

The feel and clarity is so much better than any of the plastic ones I've tried.

The trick to getting them on close to perfect is the gently work the air from the center out.

These glass screen protectors use silicon adhesion. You shouldn't be getting bubbles. After all dust is cleared, line it up and drop it on the screen. Then gently press the center of the screen and it should adhere itself. Smooth the corners and you're done. That's how the Verrizon rep did mine free of charge. When I switched carriers I installed a new one same exact way. came out perfect.

I have a Nillkin.... I got everything ready to go first hand... then I cleaned the screen then quickly put the protector on.... Being rigid, I pinched both the protector and the phone between my thumb and middle finger of my right hand, holding it just above the screen near the top (this kind of lines things up).... then I used my left hand to make sure everything was lined up correctly. Then I just push down with my index finger and work my way out, pushing out any air pockets.

There's a bubble on the bottom left edge near the corner, which, near as I can tell might be caused by a slight depression in the screen's glass, so the glass protector, being rigid, will always pull away. But the rest of the screen is bubble/line free. There are a couple of tiny bits of dust trapped in there, two or so, nothing noticable unless you are looking for them. But the beauty is that there's no bubbles around them, like I'd get with plastic.

I will never put a plastic protector on my screens again. The glass feels so much better and after 3 months, it's still clear as a bell and scratch free.

Thanks guys. I had a guy do it at a phone shop for me and it was terrible. There was a spec of white dust, hairs, fluff. It was terrible.

My first attempt didn't go so well either. Luckily the ebay seller who sold me the Nillkin has sent me a replacement which should be here tomorrow. I think I'll have to just settle on however it turns out. Being a perfectionist, I'll just have to deal with it!

If you live in a dusty area then good luck trying to get it on without any dust. It is impossible even in a steamy bathroom. I had a glass protector I sent back because I had a horrible job in getting it on dust and bubbles. Don't listen to those who say that they are easier to put on they are a PITA to put on just like the plastic screen protectors are.
