Glbt

I can't remember if I've already said hello in this thread or not so I'm saying hi again! Former crackberry user myself, same name on those forums as I have here. Left my berry for the Droid Eris thought I'd made a huge mistake until I got a Motorola Droid man I'm loving it! All I truly miss from my berry is BBM. If I could just get those friends to get gtalk or something we'd be in business!

Welcome! You might try PingChat, it seems to be a good alternative. BBM is the only thing I miss from my berry days as well.

As thekarens mentioned, PingChat is a good alternative to BBM.

Hello all I'm new to this forum but was an avid user of the bb until I went droid back in april but I was having a hard time finding a droid forum that I liked but this one seems to be a keeper so far!

I'm a 29 f from ohio and i can be found on gtalk at clittle0702!

Hey all, it has been too long since I have posted in this thread. I hope everyone is doing well and loving their phones. I have been having a great time with my phone and playing around with different roms and kernels. It's a ton of fun, then again that could be the nerd in me lol. Has anyone else ventured into loading roms on their phone?

I considered rooting and loading different roms on my phone, but for me I can't think of a good reason to. The phone does everything I need/want. I used to tinker a lot with my phones when I had a Pre (there was a lot that phone couldn't do without some tweaking)

Before the EVO Froyo update hit, I did for a little bit. I flashed a custom ROM and liked it but when the Froyo update came out I did that. I wasn't 100% sure if my phone rooted correctly or not.....lol Some ROMs wouldn't flash for some reason. If there's ever a root method for 2.2 on the EVO then I might get back into it.

I definitely understand. When I first got my incredible I didn't even consider rooting it because I loved it the way it was and also before unrevoked it was too cumbersome and unreliable to root. But my curiosity got the best of me lol and I have been trying different ROMs now ever since froyo leaked for the inc. When I had my blackberry, it was a must for me to use hybrids to get the phone exactly how I wanted it.

There was an article a few days ago that I read and I believe the Evo is rootable again after the 2.2 update.

Found the article: http://www.androidcentral.com/froyo-update-evo-4g-now-rootable not sure how easy it is according to what the article states.

I saw that too and saw the steps on the XDA forums, but that's WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY above me :p I was that person that used either unrEVOked3 (the new one scares me) or Simple Root. I'm more of a one-click sort of guy.....lol

I know what you mean...I'm the same way LMAO...I waited until the Unrevoked came out too LOL. :p

Hi Diggity! Welcome! :)

I'm thinking once Unrevoked comes back with the one click I may try rooting. I don't need to since the phone is fine as is, but I'd like to be able to use the "forced roam" app. For whatever reason when I'm at work I get full bars in the garage, but zero bars once I've entered the office.
